California Labor Federation Backs Jesse Gabriel in AD-45 Campaign
ENCINO, CA — In another indication of his widespread support, today Constitutional Rights Attorney Jesse Gabriel received the endorsement of the California Labor Federation in his bid for the 45th Assembly District. The California Labor Federation is made up of more than 1,200 unions throughout the State of California.
In a statement released following the endorsement, California Labor Federation Executive Secretary-Treasurer Art Pulaski remarked:
“The California Labor Federation is proud to endorse Jesse Gabriel for State Assembly. We know that working people can count on him to help create good paying, middle class jobs, and we're excited to help him in his campaign.”
Earlier this week, Gabriel released a key endorsement from Tricia Robbins Kasson, his top Democratic competitor for the 45th Assembly District. While Robbins Kasson's name will appear on the June 5th ballot for the general election primary, she has formally ended her campaign and endorsed Gabriel.
Gabriel recently finished first in a crowded field in the special election primary contest for the 45th Assembly District, winning 32% of the vote and securing more than double the votes of his nearest Democratic competitor. Gabriel now faces a 19-year old Republican candidate in the June 5th general special election.
Jesse Gabriel is a Los Angeles County Commissioner and Constitutional Rights Attorney who has represented clients before the United States Supreme Court. He is currently suing the Trump Administration in two landmark lawsuits which seek to protect undocumented children known as Dreamers. Through his legal work and legislative advocacy, Jesse has assisted Holocaust survivors, victims of domestic abuse, and communities facing the threat of hate-motivated violence. Jesse has also helped to resolve complex business disputes through his work with a major law firm. Prior to beginning his law practice, Jesse worked to advance the Democratic Party agenda in the United States Senate, where he served as a senior advisor to former United States Senator Evan Bayh.
A committed environmentalist and longtime community activist, Jesse also serves on the board of directors of the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters and the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, and as a Commissioner on the Los Angeles County Commission on Local Government Services.
Jesse lives in Encino with his wife Rachel Rosner, an affordable housing attorney, and their sons Ethan and Joshua. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School and UC Berkeley.
